Maleic acid resin is an irregular shape, light yellow transparent solid obtained by addition reaction of rosin and maleic anhydride and lipidated with glycerol. It is soluble in coal tar, esters, vegetable oil, turpentine, and insoluble in alcohol. .The resin has light color, strong light resistance, is not easy to yellow, and has good compatibility with nitrocellulose. The paint film made from it has high strength and is smooth after drying.
