I. Product Overview:
Water-Based Polyurethane 3518 (High Gloss) is a water-based polymer material specifically designed for high-gloss finishes. Its outstanding characteristics—including high gloss and transparent film formation—deliver exceptional application value in leather, plastics, and related fields. Using water as the dispersion medium, this environmentally friendly product provides superior coating protection for various substrates while imparting outstanding aesthetic appeal and functional performance.
II. Product Specifications:
Appearance: Translucent liquid
Solid Content: 35±2%
pH Value: 7.0-9.5
Viscosity (mPa·s): <500
Composition: Anionic aliphatic polycarbonate
III. Product Characteristics:
1. High gloss with transparent film formation.
2. Moderately hard film with excellent scratch resistance and non-tacky finish.
3. Strong adhesion and superior reworkability.
4. Excellent compatibility with various color pastes and outstanding color development.
IV. Primary Applications:
Leather Substrates: Exhibits outstanding adhesion to leather substrates, suitable for leather finishing treatments. Forms a high-gloss, transparent coating on leather surfaces, enhancing visual texture while improving abrasion resistance and scratch resistance. Elevates the premium appearance and durability of leather goods.
Plastic Substrates
PVC: Suitable for coating PVC substrates, it bonds tightly with PVC to impart a high-gloss finish while improving scratch resistance and durability, expanding PVC applications in decoration, packaging, and other fields.
TPR: Applicable to TPR substrates, it enhances TPR's appearance, increases surface hardness and scratch resistance, making TPR products better meet market demands.
Rubber: Exhibits excellent adhesion to rubber substrates, providing a high-gloss coating that enhances the aesthetic appeal and functional performance of rubber products while extending their service life.
V. Application Method:
Preparation: Thoroughly clean the substrate surface before application, removing contaminants such as dust, grease, wax residues, and impurities. For leather substrates, perform appropriate pretreatment such as sanding and dust removal. For plastic substrates, conduct surface activation if necessary to ensure the substrate is dry, clean, and smooth, laying the foundation for optimal coating adhesion.
Dilution (if required): Dilute the product with deionized water according to application requirements and desired coating thickness. When diluting, slowly add deionized water to the product while stirring thoroughly to ensure uniform dilution and prevent localized concentration variations that could compromise coating performance.
Pigment Paste Mixing (if required): To adjust color, add an appropriate amount of pigment paste to the diluted or undiluted product. Stir until thoroughly blended, ensuring complete integration of the pigment paste with the product and no residual particles or color clumps. Use the mixture promptly after blending to prevent performance degradation from prolonged storage.
Application Methods: Multiple application techniques are available, including spraying, roller coating, and brushing. Select the appropriate method based on substrate shape, size, and production process. Control application speed and coating thickness to ensure uniform coverage of the substrate surface, avoiding defects such as missed areas, sagging, or bubbles.
Drying and Curing: After application, place the coated substrate in a well-ventilated area for drying. Adjust drying temperature and duration based on substrate type and coating thickness. Typically, allow natural air-drying or low-temperature oven drying (avoid excessive heat to preserve gloss) until the coating is fully cured to achieve optimal performance.
VI. Product Packaging:
50KG/drum. Store in a well-ventilated, dry, cool warehouse away from direct sunlight and high temperatures. Keep away from fire and heat sources to prevent thermal degradation.
